How can i make the telemarketers STOP!?

So I keep getting calls from this place on a daily basis. 310-318-0078 which is some magazine company. I'm on donotcall.gov and have called these people and told them to remove me from their records. I even contacted the better business bureau. Apparently their average response time to complaints from the bbb is like 20 DAYS.

It's driving me up the wall. I refuse to answer the call because I've heard horror stories of them just ordering info if you talk to them. Aside from changing my phone number which I use for many purposes, what can I do?

Sounds like you have done the right thing, you might remind the solicitors what the don't call violation penalty is (I don't recall but like thousands per occurrence) Have you checked if your phone service ca block incoming numbers, I noticed that;s one of the options of the free google voice service in besa test.

The object of the game is to make them want to stop calling you.

Go on to Wikipedia and print out a page on Hindu religions or co-ops or some other subject that no magazine salesman would be interested in. Then, when one of them calls, say "I'm so glad you called. I'm writing this report and I want you to give me your ideas." Then start reading the print-out. If they try to interrupt, just say something like, "Look, I'm asking for your help here. Don't be rude. Just listen and then give me your ideas about the report." And keep reading. They'll hang up. Do this 2 or 3 times and you won't get any more calls because there's a crazy person on your end of the line.

Hang up every time they call, or simply leave your phone receiver on the floor and let them chat with your carpet. If they still persist, then yeah, you might have to change your number :( good luck.

p.s. or you could annoy them back with loud/rude music etc.

As much as you may not want to, change your number, unlisted and have it password protected. Did you know? that if someone knows the last didgits of your SS number they can get your number(refer back to password protected).......works for me.......
