British Airways Strike vote?

I am traveling in late Feb. to early march to Germany via British Airways. I just read about the potential strike vote this morning. Why I even booked on British Airways is already beyond me.

But does anyone know how serious or close to a vote this is? Is there a good chance I will be stuck in Germany without a way to get home to the United States?

Any information would be good. BA just has a statement offering a refund on their website.

The ballot closes Feb 22 so the first possible strike date is March 1 (one week notice). So you will be on your way, but may be stranded at your destination.

Currently nobody knows the length of the strike, if it will be just some 1-day strikes or a more extensive one.

I would recommend just to chill and go on your trip. If there's a strike when you return, deal with it then. There are so many airlines flying from Germany to the UK (direct or with connection). I would then claim the extra cost from BA if they don't voluntarily agrees to rebook you on another airline.

I found this on MSN just now. Im a travel agent for American Express and we havent been notified yet...

But they did this at christmas time also and then canceled the strike right before.

As of now sadly your gonna have to wait and see but GOOD LUCK! You could always try and call to see if they will refund your ticket so you can go on a different carrier.
