Be honest people, does anyone really care about MLK Day...?

or are you just glad it's another holiday off? It's an honest question, so honest answers only. Thanks.

Update:

Also, how do you celebrate MLK day if you're not an AA?

    I care...

I watched a documentary about him...it made me cry learning exactly how he died and what he fought for.

I totally admire him as a human being ...he was a wise person in relation to a lot of other issues not just racism.

Without him our country would probably be a very different place for everybody.

I wonder that myself, the Black people first celebrated it in a sense but I see less, and Less of that now. i believe it is like presidents day, not too many people actually stop and think what it is, most just like the fact that it gives another 3 day weekend...

You want an honest answer? Go to Oakland, CA, Montgomery, AL, or 123rd St. in Manhattan, New York City, and holler that question as loud as you can. You'll get LOTS of honest answers, but you may not live long enough to appreciate them.

Many people do. Most don't. I enjoyed my day off and a trip to the museum to see and hear about history and the "I Have a Dream" speech. I did nothing to contribute to society though, if that's what you're asking.

I appreciate what he's done. And people usually get the day off on his b-day like other considerably important holidays. There's nothing traditional to do on this day though but remember him. I already did that some I'm pretty much chilling now.

MLK may GOD bless his soul, and rest him in peace...he didn't die for just blacks ,but for us all humanity, love of GOD,and human-rights. he will always be a great man that sacrificed his live so others would live freer and with some dignity...his kinds don't come by the dozen...

  • I'm Black and i'm not sure even i do. I learn about MLK in my free time anyway, 1 day isn't going to make people who could care less about him, or Black people, care more

I don't think it's taken seriously anymore and its just looked at as another day off.
