what to do with old recipes?
I have a whole bunch of little cook books (more like pamphlets) and newspaper clippings and other stuff from my grandmother. Some of the stuff is from 1936! There is no real cook book in there. Various promotional literature from different companies. Any way - I'm not sure what to do with the stuff or how to display it. Any ideas? For now the stuff is just in a box in my attic.

Hi Nocci, First of all, Thanks for keeping all those old recipes. I was wondering if you could send me some. I love a good dish. I am diabetic but I also love to eat good food. I thought you might be able to copy those recipes and put them in a photo album. well, I haven't done that either but then I don't have many recipes. You could do like a scrapbook setting and put your Grandmothers picture on the front. Have a great day.... Jeanie

Hi Noccie,
Not sure how old you are, or if you have any children, but...I have some of my 91 year old mother's recipes, and some of my aunts. We are Italian, and love to cook, so I am putting together some of the oldest and best recipes and giving them to my 3 children. I think both of my sons and my daughter would love to have their grandmother, and great grandmothers recipes to use and pass on to their own children. I worry sometimes that people do not even know where their grandparents came from, what nationality they are, or what the foods are that define who they are and where they came from. Don't let that happen to you. Pass these recipes on to your children and your family members....let them know that their grandmothers and aunts made special food that brought their family together...keep that going. Celebrate your heritage with the recipes that these wonderful woman made for their families.

KEY WORDS: "my grandmother"...
YOU asked: "what to do with old recipes?" I HOPE you READ this!:
HERE is what you DO with 'old recipes'... especially if they are from your 'grandmother'!
1) You put them where they will be SAFE!
2) You TRY them... If YOU never got to 'savor the flavor' of what your 'grandmother' COOKED...in 1936... maybe you should give it a TRY! HOPEFULLY, it's NOT a COOKBOOK... Just (IMPORTANT POINT) YOUR 'Grandma's' way of DOING ... whatever...
3) MY 'MOM' was Born in 1925... And I am COLLECTING her RECIPES...
4) If YOU can't UNDERSTAND what I'm trying to SAY... SEND them to ME! I KNOW what to DO with them! YOU can contact me! I'ld be HAPPY to have them! e-mail me! If you are CLOSE enough, I'll PICK-UP... Or ... SEND...
