The Hopkins that beat Tarver was much better and much stronger. The Hopkins that beat Pavlik was simply the bigger guy against Pavlik who moved up in weight by 15 pounds above normal. The Hopkins that beat Tarver would win by a unanimous decision over the Hopkins that beat Pavlik.

I think its the exact same version of Hopkins, he just tailored his attack/defense to the opponent.
I know I'm in the minority on this but I believe the best version of Hopkins was the 1997-1998 version that beat Glen Johnson, John David Jackson (1 of his current trainers), Allen and Simon Brown.
