We've done this before but you make it interesting in asking at every weight. It's no guarentee that Fighter A beats Fighter B at every weight. Michael Spinks beats Evander Holyfield at light heavyweight but Holyfield grinds him down at heavyweight. That's just one example. Some fighters simply carry weight better than others.

With Leonard and Robinson it wouldn't be much different because both give up the same things upon rising in weight. Leonard looked magnificant against Hagler but that was because he was expected to lose. He really wasn't very effective. It was more a case of what Hagler DIDN'T do than what Leonard did.

Robinson has proven himself more at each weight but especially middleweight. The gap widens as they rise closer to middleweight but narrows again upon reaching light heavyweight.

No one has better Balance than Robinson. Robinson also has a slight edge in Power. Leonard has slightly better Defense as Robinson has developed a bad habit of now worrying much about Defense. Robinson has a slightly better Chin. He was dropped only twice at 147 (5 Total over 202 fights), but he fought 124 times there. Leonard was never dropped at 147 but he only had 34 fights there.

At 147 the fight is a fast paced one. Leonard faces a foe who can match his speed and out jab him. At long range, Leonard loses the early rounds as he looks for openings while remaining leary of Robinson's power.

After losing rounds 1-4, Leonard turns it into a FIGHT, using his stronger legs to take the fight inside. This works for Leonard for two rounds but he learns that Robinson is also a great inside fighter. The early rounds are close and rounds 5-6 are fought inside with Leonard gaining an edge. He continues the alley fighting in round 7 until he runs into a solid left hook that backs him off into retreat. Robinson pursues and pins Leonard to the ropes, launching a vicious body attack. The bell sounds but Leonard is visibly hurt.

In round 8, It's not Robinson who takes the fight inside. He continues his assult on Leonard's body, pinning him to the ropes. As Leonard circles to his right to escape, a solid left hook clips him on the Chin. He wobbles as another blinding left sends him to the canvas. Leonard is up and first fights cautiously. Once his head clears he begins to fight in flurries which prompts Robinson to fire back in kind. Leonard gains a measure of success but loses the round.

In rounds 9 and 10, both go back to boxing. Leonard sneaks in a good right over Robinson's jab in round 9. A few other good shots wins him the round and Robinson takes rounds 11 when he shakes Leonard with a right halfway through the round.

Round 12 is fought at a vicious pace. Leonard, sensing he needs a KO to win, forces his way inside. Robinson answers back with ficious shots to the body. Leonard throws tighter hooks as Robinson has a tendacy to come from near the hip. Leonard lands a solid left to the chin. Robinson answers with a left of his own. Another solid left backs Leonard up. Robinson forces him to the ropes and lets loose. Leonard fires back with two consecutive 5-punch combinations just before the bell.

In round 13, Leonard once again tries to get Robinson outta there but Robinson is still strong and fires back. The round slows to a contest of jabs and crosses until Leonard steals the show with a late round flurry and a solid left to the chin.

In round 14, Robinson, not to be undone, bangs to the body as he did in the middle rounds. Leonard gives pause, especially on the left side. Robinson pressures and Leonard gamely fights back but it's clear he favors the left side. Robinson sees this and bangs a few more rights to the alarmed area.

Round 15 is a bit more intense. Both fighters are spent but try to finish the other off. Robinson shifts directions while scoring with the jab. Leonard is the forced aggressor until a left-right forces him back. He boxes for a while then works inside again. Robinson meets him with fire and they're toe to toe again. Robinson backs off again and scores with the jab just before the bell.

    Robinson by UD 3,3,4 points.

Robinson wins by a slightly wider margin at 160 as he retains his Balance and Power better.

At 175, Leonard was noticibly bigger as he went to weight training. Robinson takes a close one but it's a different kind of fight.

Sugar Ray Robinson would beat Sugar Ray Leonard at every weight with the exception of welterweight, and even then the percentage chances would be slightly in his favor.I don't see Robinson losing to Duran in that 1980 fight, and I don't see Ray really beating LaMotta, at least not like Robinson did.Robinson would decision Leonard everytime, close narrow verdict at welterweight in 15 rounds.

i'd bypass with the unique Sugar Ray. better experienced, smarter and has better acceptable ring craftsmanship. Plus, Robinson has the harder chin. Ray Leonard were dropped quite a few circumstances in his occupation e.g. with Kevin Howard, Donny Lalonde, Tommy Hearns, Terry Norris and Hector Camacho (KO). I see Robinson prevailing by utilising previous due round stoppage or by utilising UD.
