What laptop brand is better? Dell, Asus, or HP?
I have three laptops I am debating between at Best Buy, they all have comparable memory space, speed, size, and extras. And all the same price, not sure which is a better brand!
I currently have an HP- dual core processer laptop. And I want to upgrade. Here are specific models of the 3 I am choosing from
HP Pavilion Laptop- Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
Asus with Intel i3 Processor
Dell Inspiron with Intel Pentium Processor
My guess is the HP, but I dont know?

ASUS is No. 1 what are you people talking about ???, i've been selling laptops for over 3 years now and with the number of problems and feedback, Dell seems to be slightly better than HP in most aspects...., other than that ASUS is the BEST, they make Mac's for goodness sake ! lol

I shopped around a little bit before buying my laptop about 5 months ago. Dell, Sony, and HP make decent laptops. My last one was a Sony and I can't say a bad word about it. It made it through a 15 month deployment in Iraq and still works 2 years after. I have heard alot of negative comments about Acer, though. I would definitely not reccomend the Acer. I ended up buy the Asus laptop and it is by far the best bang for the buck, out of all of them. I got the G71. It has a nice dual core processor, 5G Ram, a sweet GeForce 260M video card with 1G of video RAM. HD 17" screen and the speakers are even nice. I definitely got the best deal. I paid less than $1300 and I haven't found a game I can't play, yet. This thing rocks.

I would go with whomever offers the best warranty.

Dell is absolute toilet paper, I wouldn't give one to my worst enemy.
-fact-
A report recently released about HP proclaims "Your lucky to get 3 years out of it.."
-experience-
Asus makes one hell of a motherboard and I have seen some very nice gaming laptops but, the jury is still out on them for longevity.
If I would have to pin the tail on the donkey I would say Asus, but make sure each one has the features you need for now and future expansion.

Dell because they give you all the driver CDs and Program CDs and the OS CD.
Now to get to your question the best affordable laptop brand is the one im currently using which is the Dell Studio.
