Will this recipe work without the rum extract?

It's for an eggnog quick bread. I have everything I need except the rum extract.

yes it will work but the rum extract is what gives it the eggnog taste. and make it taste good if you leave out anything don't leave out the rum extract.

The recipe will turn out ok, as far as texture and moisture...but it might taste a little different. You can always substitute vanilla or almond extract for a different flavor.

It won't taste like eggnog but it will still be good.

If you have any nut (or fruit) extracts you could use them instead

you will not need the rum extract for this to work....

add 2 tsp water to compensate for the missing moisture. this is not a very moist bread to begin with.

I would say try without it, its only 2 teaspoons, it probably just adds another flavor to the bread, but it should taste fine without it. Good luck!

You can use vanilla. If you have rum in the house you can use that too.

It'll be rather flat; you can substitute maple-syrup.
