Can someone help me with this one ?

I have an old photo that was in a frame, the glass has since 'stuck' to the glass and I don't want to rip the photo away from the glass. Is there some way I can safely remove the photo off the glass ? Steaming ?

I had the same problem with some old 8x10 photos and I didn't want to take a chance damaging them further, so I just removed the frame and scanned the photo (with the glass) so I would have a copy to make prints from and then I ended up mounting the original that was stuck on the glass onto a same sized cardboard mat, and then glued that to the cover of a photo album.

I changed the frame though to match the leather cover of the album and hot glued it around the inside edges of the frame to secure the glass in place and then sealed and finished the open edges around the frame by gluing decorative cord all around. Came out well making a really nice family heirloom that could be stood upright or laid flat.

Source(s): Good luck with your photo. I hate when that happens but I know now to be more careful when cleaning glass frames cuz I used to just spray away with Windex never realizing it could get inside and ruin the pics in such a way wahaha.

water always does the trick.. if it's an old picture taken from an old camera, just get a container and fill it up with warm water. Stick the glass frame in there and let it soak.. the picture will slowly peel itself off the glass in no time. Good Luck!

FYI: if the pic was printed out from an old picture, water will ruin the ink.

Definitely not, you'll simply burn the picture. get a coule knife's and start chiseling, make sure you dont push the knife outward or you make a hole on the in the picture. The kind of kinfe i mean would be a plastic knife,i mean you can try putting near a hot area and if the picture gets all steemy you know theres a little slit that you can work with.
