Using LAN to access computers?

I have two computers and two printers in my house.

I have:

A desktop running XP and connected to a router serviced by RoadRunner.

Connected to it are two printers: An HP D4360 and an HP D8100. Both connect with USB.

And upstairs, I have a laptop running Vista that taps into the router wirelessly. Is there any way and/or any kind of (wireless) connection I can set up between the two so that the laptop can access the printers connected to the desktop?

Thanks.

Update:

My mistake: The printers are connected to the desktop through USB, not to the router. The router has no usb ports. Can I still do this?

Update 2:

My mistake: The printers are connected to the desktop through USB, not to the router. The router has no usb ports. Can I still do this?

If you have plugged them into your router, it should be accesible over the network by going over that router.

    what you need:

drivers installed on the systems you want to print from.

    if you have that

Hit Start -> run -> cmd

    type in "ipconfig" enter

read out the ip gateway of either the wireless or lan device (should be the same)

then hit start -> run -> \\ip-adress you found above followed by enter

If you don't see anything on the window popping up you might need to type in that address into your browser (as if you were going to a website) and configure your router to share plugged-in printers.

You could also try to add a network-printer by using the assistent in the printer's menu.
