are you against Obama care against health care reform in general?

I am against the POS health care reform bill, but I am in favor of health care reform. Just curious how other Conservatives felt.

My take is simple, there isn't a "health care crisis", at least not as much as there is a cable TV crisis. According to Obama, there are 15 million people without health insurance, but there are 165 million without cable or satellite TV. This is outrageous!

It is a God given right to free TV, but cable and satellite carriers have made it unaffordable! This has ramifications beyond just sheer boredom, as the poor are left with nothing else but having sex, and thus they have more babies, driving up health care costs.

If we make cable TV a right, we can reduce anchor babies and ER visits by expecting mothers, which would automatically reduce health care costs significantly.

EDIT/// Patriot- FACT... The reporting agency where you got your information has been discredited. Our dead baby count is because we have more abortions, Europe doesn't count abortions as a still born. We also try to save still born babies, as where socialized medicine considers it a waste of money. How would you feel patriot, if your child was deemed a waste of money to save?

Look deeper, find the truth! STOP BEING A SHEEP!

I can't believe how many people aare giving up the debate to these morons. Listen, how many people do you know that were denied health care at a doctor or hospital? How many houses or cars are owned by hospitals? Have you ever had to put anything up for colateral at a hopital? How about fill out a credit app?

Yeah, no, me neither. I have paid for the birth of kids, lots of stitches, shots and a couple of surgeries. None of which put me in bankruptcy. In fact, the collection company for the hospital was a hell of a lot easier to work with than the IRS, and actually acted like human beings. The IRS agents took my whole paycheck, and absolutely couldn't care less about the welfare of my family, and I only owed 1,600. Of course, they stole 2,800 from me, but that the government for you. THe hospital gave me an interest free loan, and payments that I could afford, and an unlimited time to pay it off.

Who do you want to deal with when a loved one is sick, the IRS or a hospital. Judging by the amount of bombs that get dropped off at the IRS building, I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

I am against the health care reform bill. I am against all the secret meetings and back door bribes it took to get it to this point. I believe the insurance industry needs to be called to task, though. Any time you have unlicensed people sitting in an office somewhere making life and death health care decisions for you, there's a problem. That is what is happening in our present system. I also think everyone on Welfare and Medicaid should be given a specific period of time to get an education and get a real job. Once that time expires, no more free ride. Also, if you get pregnant again while on Welfare, you should not get an increase or have ANY of your medical bills for that pregnancy covered by the government. It's time to stop the gravy train and multiple generational dependence on the government (paid for by the working class individual), while these people sit a home doing nothing and use our ER's for their private doctor visits. Enough is enough! I'll gladly help the person who lost their job due to no fault of their own, or ended up divorced with no income. But at some point we all have to get off our duffs and take responsibility for our actions.

I am very strongly against this bill Obama is desperate to pass. I don't want the government to dictate my life and this bill intrudes on every body's privacy and violates their constitutional rights. Our current health care system with out this bill dose need fixing but its still the best in the world regardless. it may not be perfect and may never will, but this current system expands the average life expectancy because we can get treatment, care, medicines, and equipment with excellent quality and its more comfortable. Obama's bill will undo all of that and it will be more expensive than it already is right now, how can anyone support that bill and think it'll be free which in reality it isn't and we have to pay the bills, costs, taxes, and hidden fee and interests? it makes no sense what so ever

Our current system need worked on and costs and expenses do need to be lowered, but that is something only the companies can do and they have a right to do it. if we can encourage the companies to lower their costs so it can be more affordable, then we'll be able to pay for it better and be covered but there a consequence for that. there will be a tax and we will have to pay that tax by the company, but it can be at an affordable and reasonable level that we would be willing to pay, say like about a 2% tax collect we could pay. once those taxes are collected, they can be used to pay for the bills and costs the company will have to pay themselves and once they pay for the stuff they need to pay, that tax will be collected again and be used to pay for your medical expenses and if you have life insurance, it should be able to pay for funeral costs. if health care costs are to be lowered, companies must be very strict with their regulations and policy. they should have that right to regulate themselves and their policies, but they must be very reasonable as well. this is why I'm strongly against Obama's bill. once that bill passes (and I hope not) it will take over the companies and their policies and will dictate what the government wants to do. this bill is a gateway for the government to get passed the constitution and open Pandora's Box

I am against Obama Care. I am not against a health care reform. Our countrys health care could use many improvements, however the direction Obama was taking it it was going to drive it right off the deep end. Scott Brown being elected is probably the best thing that has happened to the reform. President Obama is now making HUGE changes to the bill, making it agreeable to more people. Hes keeping the many things in the bill that will benefit us, for example preventative health care approach, and eliminating the weak sides. Taking baby steps on our health care is what we needed and now thats exactly what is happening

" If a level playing field exists, then private insurers will have to compete based on quality of care and pricing, instead of just competing for the healthiest consumers." When you take preexisting condition out of the equation, health or lack thereof is not an issue any longer. No matter what the plan private or public, they are going to have to compete to please the consumer. They will have to throw in what the consumer wants at better price. Also, offer incentives to the consumer such as freebies and perhaps offer more alternative forms of medical care that cost less and generally are safer and more effective. Nonprofit health care is where it is headed. Profit margins should not exist in the health care industry. They need to boost efficiency and do what they are intended to do, treat patients in a simple, efficient and safe manner.

I am against Government controlled healthcare period. I do think we need reform- I do think healthcare should be more affordable to all of us. I believe the only way to make this happen is for us to take control of our own costs. Look for the best deals with our providers. We tend to have no clue what the costs are when it is paid for by insurance. Pre-existing problems must be covered. Unfortunately I don't have the answers on how to fix this, & neither does the government.

  • I agree we need to contain and bring down costs. I don't agree with non partisan backroom deals and bribes/favors. Obama and his cronies cooked their own geese by participating in these secret "at any and all cost" meetings. It shows Obama lack of experience. I'm guessing he continues to vote "present." Leaving all the heavy lifting and blame to Pelousy/Reid if things go badly. Which they have. All he knows is Chicago style politics and that's why America is pushing back. He under estimated the resolve of us Americans. We will continue to vote the Dems out of office. We gave him a chance and he blew it. It's not just the Health Care thing. That was the issue that broke the camels back. Mass already got screwed on Health Care. They sent a clear message to the rest of the country. What was provided to them, won't work for the rest of the country either.

The most astonishing thing is Obama won Mass by 22 points! - so they AREN'T redneck racists. But that now what they are being called because they voted for Brown. Who made fun of his GM truck? Are you kidding me? What a complete idiot. This is who is running the country. Just adds to the Obama backlash. He is done. And so are the rest.

No. I know it is based on what has worked abroad to improve health outcomes and lower costs.

I am always amazed how many Americans seem not to be aware about the real healthcare issues relying instead on FOX and other sources to spread lies about the healthcare system of the USA and those abroad. I mean, if healthcare in nations with universal coverage is so bad, why do they keep it?

Obama wants to make insurance more available to all and change the system so that it gives the American people value for money [1]. He also wants change so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Taiwan where private companies are involved in providing healthcare [2].

Obama campaigned on reforming the healthcare system. He said he wanted to make insurance more available and he was elected by the American people to do this [3].

FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids both for kids aged under one and those under five than western European countries with universal health coverage [4].

FACT – American insurance companies push up prices and work to stop paying out claims on those they cover [5].

FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet [6].

That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in any western nation with universal health coverage.

If you do not like the policies that Obama was elected to bring in, he can always be voted out of office in 2012. But if you disagree with the facts, please let me know. I am always willing to learn, but please provide proof. None of those who disagree with me have been able to do that so far.

I am strongly against Obamacare. I do believe we need health care reform, but nothing that would force people to buy health care or raise taxes.

Tort reform, allowing health insurance companies to cross state lines to increase competition and tax breaks for hospitals and insurance companies are better options.

i believe we need health care reform but this current bill isn't reform. it's simply more bureaucracy and more govt. takeover of our lives. when you are trying to solve a problem everything is on the table, not just some things. you can't cherry pick what you will and won't address because of groups that are providing funds to your campaign coffers.
