How to hook up sub to amp?

I have a sony gt640ui head unit. It has two black RCA connectors for the sub output.

How would I know which one to put where?

Also could I use a two channel amp where one channel doesn't work?

Update:

The amp has a right and left channel, and right and left inputs(Red and white). Only one of them works. And my sub out has two RCA connectors(both black). would I be able to connect the sub out to the amp or would I need a fully functioning amp to connect the sub?

Hook up HU to amp. Sub output to the sub channels on the amp or sub input if u have one on the amp. All a sub output is - is a low pass filter in the stereo. Your amp has a low pass filter as well. Well, many do. it supplements the crossover.

"Also could I use a two channel amp where one channel doesn't work?"- not exactly sure what you're asking, elaborate.

good luck and slam that bass my dude

If you have no idea how to hook it up I wouldn't recommend trying it alone your first time. Find a friend who knows how to hook them up and watch what he does, help him with the install so you learn without possibly damaging your amp or your car.
