I am trying to strip red hair dye out of my hair but the roots won't budge! HELP!?
I have recently had my hair coloured (3 weeks ago) at a very reputable salon. My hair was dark blonde before and I went RED MAGENTA - Like Jonathan Ross' wife. (What was I thinking!)
It faded out VERy quickly and turned a really crappy dusty colour. I have been told to use head and shoulders shampoo to strip it out and to be fair it's worked really well... except for my roots.
I have even put it on the roots and let it sit for an hour but it only lightens slightly. I think it may have something to do with this hair being fresh and was just natural regrowth. Will the colour absorb more into virgin hair rather than pre dyed hair?
If so does anyone have any recommendations or techniques to help me lift the colour?
Thanks in advance!

I had this exact same problem!
what I done was.
I went to my nearest Sally's hair supplies and I got a;
Goldwell Colour Remover System, its cheap and really good.
It says leave on for 15-20 mins but I left it on for an hour, simply because It has no ammonia or peroxide etc to harm your hair.
When I washed it out my hair was a blondey/Orangey colour with a tiny bit of red left. The next step is to get XXL LIVE Absolute Platinum (or any shop bought bleach kit like, Born Blonde).
Leave it on for an hour, even though it says maximum 45mins but it wont do any more damage than whats already been done in that 45 mins. It also says not to use a plastic bag to hurry up processing time but I always do! Leave it on for an hour with a cap or bag over your head so you get a yellow/gold blonde.
Leave the hair for about 3 days and deep condition every chance you get and finally if you want to be blonde get a SEMI PERMANENT Ash Blonde dye or if you want to be brown a semi permanent ash brown dye.
The ash colours take away all brassyness and orange tones!
Hope I helped.
I do this every 6 months or that because I love my red hair but always want blonde lol. I dye mine really bright red and this works for me and its not very damaging.

I'm sure you can buy proper hair stripper that'll take all the colour in it, out of it. Maybe have a look on the internet? My friend had the same problem and she's just sent off for something that should get rid of it. (:x

I think blonde hair is actually sexiest, but brown hair can become really sexy too. Black hair is never sexy. It's just really boring and boring and flatters few caractère. Blonde hair looks best with blue eyes.
