No, I live in Cali and I have alot of friends that have little brothers and sisters that are kindergartners, and they do not get ANY free days off, with the exception of holidays and weekends. Plus, when I was in kindergarten, I never got any days off, with the exception of weekends and holidays.

No and kindergarten is the easiest grade in which to hold students back. They will be held back for another year of kindergarten if for any reason the parent or teacher feels that the child did not get the full benefit or is not ready to move to first grade. Missing excessive days will most likely lead to the child being held back.

I don't live in CA, but I don't think that is the case anywhere in the United States. School is mandatory up to a certain age, and in no state is the cutoff less than 16.
