What is your opinion on the whole Vegeterians/vegans vs Meat eaters debate?
I would like to know your thoughts, many people get very mad when the conversation is brought up like on youtuber onision he gets very angry about meat eaters.
I am a Vegeterian and i do it because of a healthier lifestyle and for the animals of course but i do nt think meat eaters are bad people or anything and i also certainly do not think i am better for being a Vegeterian.
(:
Common Sense in Exile: i am not imposing anything on anyone i am just asking a simple question on your opinion that's it.
For the people out there who are saying vegeterians are obnoxious and that i am one for asking a question i didn't know that by saying i don't care if you eat meat or think you are a bad person meant im attacking you in any way.
If your going to be like that please keep your comments to yourself thanks.

I'm going to be honest. I will NEVER condone the consumption of meat and dairy. I think that supporting the deplorable treatment and murder of sentient beings is heinous. The fact that humans are torturing and killing so many animals and contributing to the destruction of life on this planet at such a grand scale for no other reason but pleasure, because animal products taste good, is to me, as a member of the same species, deeply upsetting and shameful. People who eat meat and dairy fall into one of two categories: 1) Those who are ignorant, and 2) Those who feel that their own hedonistic desires are more important than the lives of animals and the preservation of life on earth. Simple as that. I'm sorry, but there is no way around that. As much as I care about people, they make me angry.
I do not, however, feel that I am better than a meat-eater. I do feel that my CHOICES are better. If I didn't, I would make different choices. But no one has the authority to say that a certain group of individuals is better than another group of individuals. Any vegetarian or vegan that does that has gotten caught up in a way of thinking that is responsible for the torturing and killing of animals! (we feel that animals are lesser beings and we kill them and perform experiments on them as we please because we think we're entitled).
All that being said, I'm glad that we (at least those of us who are fortunate enough to live in developed, relatively wealthy countries) have the freedom to choose what we eat. But given that ability, I hope for everyone's sake that more and more people will stop choosing cruelty.

I cannot prove you right or wrong because I don't know you, can't see you, don't know what and how much you eat and what other things that you do or don't do that makes you healthy or unhealthy. the question header says "diet debate question, vegetarians vs. meat eaters?" The only thing I can definitely say is that whoever thinks that fish and seafood are a part of vegetarian's diet is wrong. Are the people criticizing you vegetarian or are you saying you are vegetarian? Because if you are, then you are wrong. If they also think you are vegetarian, then all of you are wrong. But only on the definition.

Then you are one of the good ones. I have no problems with vegetarians who want to eat healthier, and I don't really have a problem with any vegetarian that doesn't try to impose their will on me. Well, I take that back, I have a big problem with them when they don't TELL me they're vegetarian, and I cook steaks, and one goes to waste.
The problem is that vegetarians have made an affirmative lifestyle choice, whereas meat-eaters are just doing what they have always done and what the rest of the world has done since time immemorial. Sure, you'll get meat-eaters that will call vegetarians sissies or whatever, but it's almost always the vegetarians that make it a political point or bask in their own self-righteousness and generally look down on meat and those who eat it. At least that's been my experience.

I don't care about people who eat meat, I mean as people I care about them but I don't care what they eat. I do however get sad when I see people in asia eating meat especially cats and dogs because that absolutely disgusting, especially because they kill them in the most painful way they can think of. It makes me sad, but I'm not going to start anything over what my friend is eating
if someone on here asks What's your fave food? I'm not going to care if someone says steak, because thats what they like.

People like to think they know what they are talking about, plain and simple. Vegetarians and vegans have done the most research into diet on average. You don't see overweight and obese veg people. Veg people are typically healthier. These are obvious points. The only real argument meat eaters have is protein which is debunked by all the natural ways of getting protein such as beans, cashews, almonds etc. and peanuts and vegetables and whatnot. The bottom line is most people don't care about animals enough to think critically about them. They might have a pet or two, but they don't apply the same compassion and love for the animals they eat. Most if not all veg people have compassion for animals beyond what meat eaters do. It boils down to what people actualize as fact in their own brains. Because it is easy to go on eating meat and dairy and eggs, and it is common and actually pushed onto people (one of the largest industries = money/ jobs) through advertising and lies (meat is manly :? ) people never get over the hurdle in their minds to make the change. The battle over which is right has been overwelmingly won by veg people. The real issue is how long does it take for people realize the issues correctly and what does it take for them to do it. For me it took 24 years of eating like most people do and it took personal will to look into the cruelty of factory farms. The health benefits are a bonus for me. Peace.
.002 cent return. Nobody is looking down on you. We have made the choices that seem best to us and I think we made the right ones. Peace.

I was close to being a vegitarian, but that lifestyle is too hard. All the nutrients needed should not be my main concern. I feel how animals are treated is terrible! I do not care how a person eats. Just treat the animals humainly. My only concern is my belief, what a person eats is none of my business.

I don't give two shits what anyone else eats or why. Your diet is none of my concern.
Likewise, I don't see why anyone else would give two shits what I eat or why. My diet is none of your concern.
Don't attack me about being an omnivore who enjoys eating meat, and I won't attack you about being an obnoxious jackass who butts into personal decisions.
And as if to identify what should be an already obvious point by now, the only responses here that are NOT along the lines of "you can eat whatever you want and nobody cares" are from vegans (I'm looking in your direction Eric, freeyourself1anarchist, David). As evidenced by their answers, they DO explicitly believe themselves to be better and morally superior to everyone else.

I don't really care what you eat, and really don't want to hear your reasons or principles. It's called proselytizing. So long as you keep it that way, we're fine.
Not so much vegetarians, but vegans are particularly annoying about trying to convert others. I tune them out completely. By the age of 13, we all know the debate, no reason to hit me over the head with their so-called lifestyle and Mother Superior attitude (see Eric below).

My opinion is that I'm sick of hearing about it. Do what you think is right and shut up about it, and about what other people choose to eat. That goes for both sides.

I think if you eat meat then so what. If you don't thats fine too. What does it even matter? Its the persons choice and if you don't like it well theres nothing that you can do to stop them.
