Movies in Mexico - How do you tell the language from the listing?

I think the movies in the VIP lounge are always in English if that's the original language because if you can afford the VIP theater you are supposed to be able to speak English. Sorry I was about to go on a rant about Mexican culture and Cinepolis, lol. I would also imagine that since the trailer is in English with subtitles the movie will be also. You could call up the theater and ask.

First class and 2nd class theaters, hah! only in Mexico!

At least 90% of all movies shown in mexican theaters will have spanish subtitles. If a movie theater has a dubbed movie, they will clearly state on the board: Name of the movie + (español o doblada) and if it's subbed Name of the movie + (subtitulado).

it will be harder if the movie you want to see is a kids film like a Disney movie. They usually offer it subbed, but only in a very small amount of movie theaters and the subbed version only stays in theaters for a week or two. They rarely (if ever) dub movies for teenagers or adults.

Also notice, a lot of comic hero movies might also be dubbed. Movies like Spiderman or the Fantastic 4 will come in both languages. Avatar was released here dubbed and subbed, but since it isn't a kid's movie a lot of theaters offered the subbed version which is what I saw.

Most major movie companies offer the schedule and movie list online.

VIP rooms in Cinepolis and Cinemex are twice as expensive as the normal ticket (about 10-12 dollars to give you an idea), they have leather seats and instead of popcorn they literally have a guy inside there offering to sell you stuff like sushi. I've even heard some places offer alcohol!

They play the exact same movie, you're just there because of the luxurious seats, less people because of the higher pricetag and more exclusive service (you do have to pay the sushi apart and they like to increase the price just because you're in a VIP room). Only go to a VIP if you like blowing away 50 dollars on a 2 hour film and sushi room service.

It is pretty much safe to assume it will be subtitled. Usually, the dubbed movies are the ones for kids and a lot of movie theaters will show these in both formats, subtitled or dubbed, and that is the main reason why they mark them.

Most movies in Mexico are Subtitulada (Spoken English with Latino subtitles) even if the name of the movie is translated to a Latino name. Just make sure there are English speaking actors in the movie!

The exceptions are feature length cartoons which seem to be all dubbed into Latino.

If the trailer is subtitled the movie will be too.

I think a person's ability to appreciate travel is based on their maturity level, not their age. Some 25 year olds don't appreciate travel, while some 12 year olds can. It is not an age thing at all. I love and totally appreciate travel and I'm not 18 :]
