What do "street 1" and "street 2" mean?

Ok I feel extremely stupid for asking this, but I really don't know. When registering for something and it says "street 1" and then "street 2", what is this asking for? Is this just in case you live on a corner, meaning if you live on one street you just fill out the 1st one? I just don't want to fill this out incorrectly and I couldn't find any help option that gave me an answer?

Those are the two lines of your street address. The first is always filled in, but the second often stays empty. In other words, in this famous address:

    The White House

    1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW

    Washington, DC, 20500-0003

the 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW is Street 1, and there's nothing for Street 2.

    Hope that helps.

When people say they grew up on the streets, I believe they are saying that literally. Usually because being at home was so bad that they spent all their time on the streets. Playing in the streets, hanging out with their friends in the streets, alleys, parking lots, parks. People who live that way learn a lot from watching other people who are living that way as well. Everyone has their reason for living on the streets. Bad home life and doesn't want to be their, parents or parent at work and no one to talk to or answer to. Living on the streets forces a person to become self reliant. You develope a sense of awareness many of us take for granted. You're utterly aware of your surroundings. Some take to illegal activity. You know who the dealers are, you know who the wife beaters are, you know who the kids are whose parents shove them out the door to go "play" so they aren't in their hair. In so many neighborhoods, especially highly populated and low income, people had to learn how to be tough so others wouldn't take advantage of them. People would beat you up for money, for your shoes, for the fun of it. Gangs would try to get you involved, you either had to learn to dodge them or join them. Dealers would try to sell to you or get you to sell for them. Prostitutes might become your friends and then you become all to aware of what that lifestyle means. Being street smart means you've been educated in a way that most people will never have to understand, you've learned what life is like outside the shelter of a "normal" home life and stability. I hope this provided you with what you were asking. I hope to have accurately given you the response to your question.
