How would I present a video game idea to a company?

I have an outstanding idea for an MMO video game. I figured someone would come up with an idea close to it eventually but still no. How do I present my idea to a company?

One of the best ways is to arrange a meeting. call the company and set up a meeting. tell them you have an idea for a video game, but don't tell them the idea, because it's not copyrighted and you hadn't actually met with them yet. if its actually as good as you say, they could try to steal it if you don't arrange a formal meeting.

You need a contact already in the industry and high up the ladder.

The job of the "idea guy" doesn't exist.

For example, RE4 was gonna be the same fixed camera thing from RE1-Code Veronica. The only reason it got changed is because a programmer actually went ahead (on his own time) and made the over-the-shoulder system and, only after it was made, did they get approval and use it for RE4 and RE5.

regrettably, this is puzzling to get your recommendations right into a organization. i grew to become into going to place up my concept to Squaresoft, now sq. Enix. My concept is to have a scuffling with game featuring very final delusion characters. i think of it would be cool to have a scuffling with device reminiscent of Soul Calibur or Mortal Kombat with the weapons and such.... even however, the area especially pronounced it would not settle for recommendations and that they have got a imaginative team for that. BS IMO.

these days, EVERYONE has outstanding ideas about mmos. no offence, but i work in a game development company and i hear things like this every single day.

if you think your idea is really good, try drafting a design document. that thing is huge. concept art, storyline, user interface, everything. if you pull this off, kudos to you.
