As humanity?

I watched the movie...at times I felt amazed (at the beautiful connection to nature of the indigenous people from Africa), at times I felt anger (the spread of Western control of debt, at industrial exploitation of the land and resources, and at the arrogance of this mentality), at one point I cried. All in all I felt the film touched my heart deeply.
No, we don't know what we are doing. We are removing ourselves from the natural rhythms of Mother Earth at an unhealthy and unsustainable rate.
We can't see it though because our lens is adjusted to only the individual level, and not the collective whole of who we are. One quote stuck out for me in particular,
"If we view the world as a machine, we become a machine. The machine mentality that has simply said the universe, nature are mechanistic processes. That's brought us only so far. And that's exactly the crossroads. One of the things that we see now in our current economic crisis is that it was in large measure driven by an abstraction of economics apart from ecology, apart from nature itself. It became a global casino, a roulette, a building on itself."
I feel that our need to maximize profit (greed) is our greatest threat to not only our connection to our spirituality, but perhaps survival as well. I don't know.
Thank you for sharing this. Love and blessings dear friend.

Great video! Unless we get back to the natural we are doomed. You would like the book Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.
Letting life be life
"Attempting to control external events
will never keep us safe.
Control is an Illusion.
Whatever we try to control,
we separate from ourselves.
Whatever we try to fix,
we ruin.
Life is sacred,
and flows exactly as it should
We return to our breathing.
It knows exactly what to do,
rising and falling without conscious control.
In the same way
We sometimes have excess
and sometimes lack.
We sometimes assert ourselves
and sometimes hold back.
We sometimes succeed
and sometimes fail completely.
Our practice is to see all of this
without taking it seriously."

We are, and have always, been making things up as we go ^_^
Source(s): As a humanity, that is. Individuals may think they know where they're going, but as a group we can't decide on which path we want to take, nor do we really have enough foresight to make an adequate choice. It's allright though. So far things could be worse.
