How long should it take a 7 year old to read Roald Dahls "The Witches" and "James and the Giant Peach"?

My son did it between last night and tonight in about 4 hours. I was shocked. Is this a normal speed? I quizzed him on the storyline and he went into great detail. He is on Autistic spectrum, but has no patience for homework and writing!

If a 7 year can read good this is a realistic time to complete the book. But I think most children would not have the patience for reading that long. If he is in the Autistic spectrum he will have the ability to focus on something he likes but not things he does not like.

I dont think it's anything to do with being autistic I think some children just take to reading quicker than others. I could read The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in 3hrs at the age of six, but my sister struggled to read books with two sentences per page at the same age and she has aspergers so if was to do with autism she would have been great at reading at that age too.

Probably weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks;you know how slow second graders are at reading. LOL
