I am going to ocho rios in february, I want to find a small local restuarant, for good Jamaican food.?

I don't want a commercial place. I want somewhere to eat where the locals eat.

It's Italian food, but I really suggest also going to Evita's! It has great food but an even better view! It is on a hill overlooking the city and ocean. They also have a wall of all the celebrities that have stayed there!

James st is great so is scotches

If those dont appeal to you then try the Juci beef or tastee in town. Patty is pretty popular but Juci also has breakfast and lunches that are economical and very traditional. Island grill is a fastfood version of jerk but they have some good other options as well like their yabba and hominy corn porrage which they serve in the morning. you can also get bammy there its convenience food but good and dependable and jamaicans eat there.

I use to recommend bi bips but the service hasnt been very consistent... it might be worth the risk

finally when all else fails ask a taxi man where he ate today :)

A good place is on James Ave. near the clock....everyone in Ochi knows of it, its called the fish world restaurant...theres actually a few around that area, very small places where locals eat. But stay away from the "tourist area" of Ochi,,,,go by the clock tower.
