UK: What is the difference between BA (Honours) and just a normal BA?

Do you have to choose at the beginning of your course if you want to aim for Honours, and then you do an extra year or get a more difficult exam in your final year?

Or is it determined by your final results eg a 1st is the same as Honours?

    A degree may be awarded with or without honours, with the class of an honours degree based on the average mark of the assessed work a candidate has completed. Below is a list of the possible classifications with common abbreviations:

    * First-Class Honours (First or 1st)

    * Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1)

    * Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2)

    * Third-Class Honours (Third or 3rd)

    * Ordinary degree (Pass)

    * Fail (no degree is awarded)

    because of the fact which you state which you certainly desire to be a publicist then important in mass communications! that's what communications is all approximately!! and since the 1st answerer suggested they do no longer supply Liberal Arts stages as a Bachelors of technology. you shouldn't complication approximately having a BA somewhat than a BS because of the fact the only distinction relatively is the form of math and technology classes, which you will no longer want as a publicist. btw, many schools require scholars to have atleast 2d year expertise in a distant places language to graduate regardless of their degree, be it BS or a BA.
