Car Rentals in Vegas?

If flying in from out of state would you need a car rental in Las Vegas? I wouldnt think you would need one if your staying on the strip..I would think you would only need one from the airport to the hotel..Any advice?

Take a taxi or a shuttle from the airport and save yourself a lot of headaches. People who drive in Vegas are the worlds worst. If you are staying on the strip you can walk to just about anywhere is a short period of time. Walk, don't drive.

There is plenty of cheap transportation, the cheapest would be the Deuce, it is the bus that runs up and down the strip. If you buy the 24 hour pass for 7 dollars it will get you on any bus in the city. As far as from airport to hotel and back, they have convenient shuttles that will cost you about 6 dollars one way or 12 for round trip. It does stop at a lot of hotels, but it is way cheaper than a cab, depending on if you have a large party. If you will be splitting a cab to the strip you are looking at anywhere from 15 to 30 dollars one way split between 4 or 5 people really not that bad. So just do your math. 12 dollars per person round trip shuttle or cab 30 dollars or less one way divided by # in your party.

If the cost of the rental car is about the same as cab fare to and from the airport, rent a car.

Otherwise, not. Having a car is more of a burden than a convenience if you're just touring the strip area. During off peak times like mid December, car rental rates are insanely cheap. I rented a car from Thrifty at $13 per day in December 2008.

I have never rented a car in Vegas, and I've never wished that I had. If you're on the strip, you can easily get around by walking, using the bus or monorail, or taking a taxi. You would only want one if you were planning to head off the strip, such as to visit Red Rock, Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, etc.

Take a taxi or shuttle to and from the airport (I always take a taxi), and you should be fine otherwise.

You can pick up a car at Budget rental cars. Im not sure if its in the airport or right next to it. You should make a reservation to make sure you get one cause if there is a big event in town trust me you will not find any!!! Try budget.com or enterprise.com. Enterprise is usually cheaper. You can always have a taxi take you to the rental cars station too.

you really don't need a car. most of the hotels have a shuttle that will get you from the airport, otherwise just take a taxi. when you're getting around i mostly just walked but if you want you can take a taxi or shuttle. I think a car would be more trouble than it's worth. have fun!

I too am a huge fan of Thrifty and their 'Blue Chip' software. very last time I rented with Thrifty in Las Vegas, you receive to %. the motorized vehicle from a row of the type of motor vehicle you rented. no longer each position is like that. Vegas might want to no longer be like that any extra both yet Thrifty remains my first selection at the same time as ever I lease a motor vehicle.
