How much is my King brand Trombone worth?

I have this trombone just sitting around I would like to sell it. It is in very good shape and shows only minor wear. Only 1 ding could be found and it was very, very minor. Its in a great case and has the mouthpiece, slide oil, grease, and cleaning tools. Again, this instrument is in quite fine shape. How much can I expect to get for it and what would be the best way/place to sell? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Sounds like you need a Jupiter. Yamaha are the best. I am a band teacher. I would, in fact, recommend a used Yamaha potentially even over a new king. If your son plays a good instrument, he will sound better and like the instrument more. It is a tricky balancing act. I think though, Jupiter, King and Bach are all quite solid brands, but if you can go for the Yamaha then do it, as it is a sort of investment (No I do not sell Yamaha).

You didn't give enough info. King trombones can go for varying amounts of money depending on the model from hundreds to a few thousands of dollars. There should be an etching somewhere on it with a model number (I think that for trombones it's on the slide).

Go to a pro music shop and get it appraised.
