No IDE master HDD detected?

I just upgraded my pc case to a coolmaster. After startup the computer boots and brings me to an error screen "no IDE master HDD detected. I'm not using HDD the wire was just hanging in the old case connected to the motherboard but not to a hardrive. After I upgraded to the new case I disconnected the HDD wire, I'm using a SATA to a my hardrive. How do I get the BIOS to quit reading the old master HDD? I tried going into the BIOS and assign the SATA hardrive as master but couldn't find an option. In the device manager the hardrive is detected, drivers up to date, and working fine. I just don't wanna press F1 everytime I turn on my computer to boot it.

You need to go into the BIOS, F2, and change the priority for the boot order, disable the HDD(IDE0 or IDE1) and then change the SATA to be first in the array.

Did you adjust the jumpers on the drive/drives? Do you know what that means? ATA/IDE devices use little plastic and metal pins to say which drive on the cable is Master (M) and which one is Slave (S). There's another setting called CS or Cable Select which means the first drive on the cable is Master and the second is Slave. You should see a little diagram printed next to the pins to explain how it should be set up, but you may have to consult the manual or manufacturers web site. Most drives come set up CS by default but that doesn't always work so try Master/Slave Do you have one drive or 2? If 2, set the boot drive as Master and the other drive as Slave. If you only have 1 drive, set it as Master.
