What is the model of the calculator you're using? They're not all the same.

Why is Amelia getting down thumbed?

Unless youre a scientist with thousands of points of data, I fully agree with Amelia. Use paper, not a calculator. I never advocate the calculator.

And her instructions were perfectly right. That is how you find the median and mean. Based from definition.

Thirdly, if your calculator is designed to handle statistics, and can give you mean, then it will likely be able to give you median as well. Otherwise there would be no point to inputting the data in a special data table. Your problem is finding which function to use, since they are not named so plainly.

And, unless you tell us what calculator youre using, your instructions and our answers wont be very helpful

just add all of your numbers up, and devide the sum by the total of numbers you entered, i believe thats your mean, you dont need any special buttons, for the median, put all of your numbers in a row from least to greatest, the middle number is your median, such a waste of time on a calculator
