I bought some tarket laminate flooring and need help installing?
I bought it for christmas from Menards and have never done it before. It is regular 1.45 cents a square foot and was on sale for .32 cents a square foot. It is not the best but not the worst either. Should I glue the pieces together or is their any chance of it coming apart. Any installation help would be appreciated. Thanks

No you shouldn t glue the pcs together. On the old glue together style. there was room left in the T &G area for when the glue made the areas expand a bit. The new locking systems there is no room for the glue ..And to answer you about if it will stay locked together, only time will tell. I ve read reports ( trade magazines) on the Chinese made locking system not holding together very well.
As far as installation goes, a helper , a straight start and a laminate kit is a big help. The laminate kit contains a tapping block ,spacers and a pull bar.
Set your 1st row straight. With a friend set your second row, end cuts and all, loose.. Lift this all at once into place. At an angle ,set the locking groves together, push in and down. This will semi lock the system. Go along the whole row and tap into place with the tapping block to set it tight.
Once you get 3/4 rows together, you can start to set single pcs if you wish. If not, continue setting whole rows if you wish. You can set whole rows by your self but its a bit more challenging.
All end joints should be no closer than 6", further if possible at all times.
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar.
I ve attended several installation seminars as well as installed a few 100,000 s/f of laminate.
Lastly..... Buy pizza and a beer ( if inclinded ) for your helper at the end of the day.. GL
