With great knowledge comes great potential. Its use for sorrow, or joy, is an individual decision based on many factors, the main one of which is the nature of the opinions one chooses to hold.
Those opinions decide perception.
Perception decides thought.
Thought decides hormone balance and speech and action.`
Speech and action get responses from the environment.
The judgment of them decides joy or sorrow.

Ecclesiastes 1:18 (Show me Ecclesiastes 1)
For in much wisdom is much vexation, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
I would say that it is true by my experience and I consider it a blessing, because Ecclesiastes 7:3 says "Sorrow is better than laughter, for by sadness of face the heart is made glad." I am no longer the naive and gullible person I used to be.
Great knowledge would point out that evil is rampant in the world. The state of the world is getting worse, sufferings of man are increased because of sin and godlessness in the last days. It takes a true mature believer to be sorrowful over evil for he will see evil for what it is.

I don't think the sorrow comes with knowledge but wisdom. I know a lot of very smart and knowledgable people who are out of touch.

"You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!" That's what it means... The more able you are to see the world for what it is, the more depressing it is... Look at idiots - they're happy and content to sit around and be stupid; but look at smart people - how often are they happy or content? The more a person knows, the less innocence the person has... Children, who do not have great knowledge, are able to see beauty in everything; whereas adults, who have gained a greater understanding of the world (than children have) are not. Basically, "be a simple kind of man."

Great knowledge comes to those who live a full life obtaining it. Great sorrow is knowing that your incomplete life is not infinite.

The only great sorrow is waking up one day and realizing one's wasted most of his life believing in religious teachings that do absolutely no good. That is the knowledge.

I don't agree with this. Great knowledge opens one's eyes and lifts the curtains of sorrow from our life...............
.........Is what I believe.......

@:"With great knowledge comes great sorrow...?"
The more we know HIS WORD; the more sad we become for the world.
The wisdom of the world is AGAINST HIM.
It's sad because HE IS IN CONTROL and there is NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT IT.
WHY WE ALL DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS IS...........SAD.
THAT'S WHY IT'S DAVID THAT SAID: THE WISDOM OF THE WORLD IS {FOOLISHNESS} TO OUR FATHER.
Worldly wisdom is nothing to HIM. .....HE IS THE "I AM"
HE CREATED SEEDS TO FEED THIS {UNGRATEFUL WORLD}.
THAT'S WHAT'S SAD.
ECCLESIATES 1:18.

It means absolutely nothing... if great knowledge is making you sad, it is your perception of that knowledge that is in error...
