I need a community college that has a dental hygeine program?

I live in toronto and I'm looking to become a dental hygeineist. Private colleges are way too expensive. Anyone know any schools other than George Brown? Any help would be very appreciated :)

Hey, go to CDHA - When ever you are looking into a career find what association they are affiliated with and look at their website. They have lots of use ful information Including list of all the schools that have dental hygiene prog.

Here is the direct link: http://www.cdha.ca/AM/Template.cfm?Section=DH_Prog...

Good Luck with everything. If possible consider going to a university that way you will get your bachelors and years later if you want to be come a dentist you will already have a degree. It will be easier for you.

A community college is like a junior college, a 2-year college (instead of 4 years, like a university or regular college). At least in the U.S. I think other countries have other systems. People can get an Associate's Degree (2 year degree) at a community college, like they get a Bachelor's Degree at a 4-year college/university. Many people get an Associate's Degree at a community college, then transfer to a regular college, study 2 more years, and get a Bachelor's Degree. People can also take classes for enrichment or career development or just for fun. Community colleges are cheaper than regular colleges/universities and are easier to get admitted to. I mean, REALLY easy. And you have smaller class sizes at community colleges than freshman and sophomore classes at a 4-year school, so you get more attention from your teachers. So I think, if you're going to get a bachelor's degree, that transferring from a community college is usually the better choice, because you'll save money and get more individual attention from your professors. And your grades from high school won't keep you out. On the con side... if you want the whole "party dorm/frat" college experience, you're likely not going to get it at a community college, because I've never heard of any campus housing for a c.c., and I think the average student age is older at a community college than at a university, because alot of people going to c.c. (at least the one I went to) are people who've already been working/married/kids and they're there to get a better job or promotion or something, not to break free from their parents' home and party. So they're a bit serious about studying.
