Can you remember the last time you cleaned and optimized your registry? This is a frequent cause of your computer becoming slow. Like a car that needs to go to the mechanic for fine tuning, in order to maintain computer performance you need an occasional tune up yourself. The best way to do this is by downloading a registry cleaner. You can get my favorite at:

what you can do to improve your computer performance:

    1. stop those unnecessary start-up programs which will affect computer boot time a lot.

    2. do a defragment and a disk defragment or a registry defragment. the former will free up your disk space, and the latter will give a clean registry.

    3. notice that just cleaning up registry is not enough. you should fix registry errors.Registry is so important to a computer, so if you are unfamiliar with it ,do not delete anything by yourself, or your computer will collapse.

    4. remove all junk files and history.

1,2,3,4 can be easily realized by a professional registry cleaner, personally, I usually use Wondershare Registry Optimizer which is safe and stable.

5.fully scan your computer. Virus always cause a computer slow down. At the same time, you should also know that using more than 1 antivirus software is harm to your computer. They will make a big confliction by uncompatible with each other.

    6. Add some RAM, which is helpful to computer speed. Do not put programs on C driver, for it store all system information.

    7. if all above do not work, you may consider to do a reinstall of Windows. Before you do it , please remember to back up all your important files.

Follow these steps and you'll have your computer purring like a vintage Porsche (or whatever your dream car of choice is). And the best part? Maintaining your computer is a lot less messy than an automobile. You don't even have to roll up your sleeves.

Clean up disk errors (Run once a week)

Whenever a program crashes, or you experience some power outage, your computer may create errors on your computer's hard disk. Over time, the errors can slow your computer. Luckily, the Windows operating system includes a Disk Check program to check and clean any errors on your computer and keep it running smoothly.

Remove temporary files (Run once a week)

Your computer can pick up and store temporary files when you're looking at Web pages and even when you're working on files in programs, such as Microsoft Word. Over time, these files will slow your computer's performance. You can use the Windows Disk Cleanup screen to rid your computer of these deadbeat files.

Rearrange your data (Run once a month)

Don't be shocked, but your computer can get sloppy. Your computer often breaks files side by side to increase the speed of access and retrieval. However, as files are updated, your computer saves these updates on the largest space available on the hard drive, often found far away from the other adjacent sectors of the file.

    Make Internet Explorer run faster

The Web is a sparkling achievement of modern society. It's everywhere—from the home to the classroom. We use it to communicate, to work, to play—even to waste time when there's nothing else to do.

    Automate Microsoft Update (Configure once)

Microsoft works constantly to release updates to Windows and other Microsoft products, including Office. At Microsoft Update, you can find and install all these updates—not just the critical ones. Often, these updates will improve your computer's performance.

    Install antivirus and antispyware programs

Computer viruses and spyware (hidden software that gathers information about you without your knowledge or consent when you're using a computer) both reduce system performance. Computer viruses can not only reduce performance, but they can also destroy data. Any computer that accesses the Internet should have antivirus and antispyware programs installed.

It is sure that, at some point in time, an upgrade of the RAM modules, or graphics card, or maybe even purchase a whole new computer package helps to speed up the computer. But you can still try the steps below to speed up your computer.

    1) Uninstall the programs that you don't need.

    2) Delete the files you don’t need

    3) Use the disk clean-up option in Windows to regularly clean up the system junk files.

    4) Turn off System Restore feature.

    5) Use a reliable registry cleaner to clear the windows registry.

    6) Regularly scan the computer for viruses and spyware.

    7) Remember to disable some unneeded startup items.

    Good luck!

    1. Clear up disk space.

If you do not have high computer configuration and not clear up computer for a long time, it is likely that your computer is running slower and slower because the hard disk is crammed with too many junk files.

If you computer is fast before but slows down recently, you need to clean up C disk as soon as possible. As for the junk files, you can the temporary and swap files, certain page files, history records files and so on. Most of them are hidden in the C drive.

    2. By deleting the junk files in the C drive, your computer is able to run faster than before.

Besides, you have to defrag C drive after wiping those junks.

You can click “Start” > “All Programs” > “Accessories” > “System Tools”, you will see the defragmenting programs. And then it is necessary to clear up disk which is put in the same place as defragmenting one.

Next, set up a system restore point which is also in the “System Tools”. After doing that, you should close it down since restore point may consume a lot of C drive space.

But it can help you restore the system to the normal state when you set up the point.

If your computer is slow on start-up, go to Start then Run and type MSCONFIG. If you chose the start-up tab on the right, you will see all services that start when Windows first boots up. You probably have a program (or 2) that is set to update itself when the computer first boots up will slow the computer down. Also check for items like Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office that don't need to start every time Windows start. If you end up needing the application after all, simply go back and change it back on the next start-up.

Most computers actually run slow because of a hidden part of your system, which is constantly being used by Windows. This part of your PC is called the "registry" and is the central database for Windows, which stores everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper. It's one of the most important parts of Windows and can easily make your PC run slow. The more corrupt registry files your computer has, the more it struggles to read them. The files which makes it run slower and slower. To fix this, you simply need to use a registry cleaner http://computer-e-book-money.com/ . These are small software tools which actually work by scanning through the registry and fixing any bad files that are in there. This then allows Windows to read as many files as it wants, when it wants to.

Because you have A LOT of programs running on start up. :P I forgot how you can stop programs from starting up, but once I do, I'll tell you. OR you can exit/cancel any programs that come out from your TaskBar or whatever you call that Bottom-Right part where the clock is at. Every computer does that.
