Update:

Did You guys read it? A Design issue? Then why The recalled accelerator pedals were produced in a firm based in Elkhart, Ind. – CTS Corp. So far, pedals made by Toyota’s original manufacturer, Japanese firm Denso Corp., have not had problems.

The car was assembled in the US, but designed in Japan, the problem you've pointed out was a failure in design.

And yes, we should manufacture more stuff in the US. Just about everything that is touching my skin right now has been manufactured overseas, mostly in China. It all used to be manufactured here, no wonder we have so many people out of work. McDonalds and Burger King can only employ so many people.

That's a design issue, not a manufacturing problem. The cars are designed in Japan, so the answer to your question, is no, this is not an example of more crap made in America.
