Teething question, more teeth on bottom before top teeth come in?

Did anybody's baby get 4 teeth on the bottom before any top ones came in? My 6.5 week old has two teeth on the bottom and after a few sleepless nights and some very fussy behavior I noticed that the gums on the bottom the the left and right of the two center teeth look a little red and swollen. All the books say that they get them on the top first but I don't see anything going on there.

Also, best remedies for those sore little gums?

Update:

Oops, my grammar was sloppy... I mean that most sources say first come the bottom two teeth, then two on the top.

    cucumber has anti inflamatory properties if you don't want to use the traditional teething gels or you could try both...

    there is no hard and fast rule with teeth they come when they are good and ready and in whatever order they decide lol :)

    My daughter got 2 teeth on bottom first, then two more on bottom started "budding" a week later a tooth on top started budding.
