wow come on, why does everyone compares Metallica to others bands that are totally difference. These two bands have nothing alike, MAYBE you could compare the band's skill, but besides that nothing else.

Comparing the band's skill, Van Halen for sure. But as is creating catchy songs, Metallica gets the point. But overall, Van Halen>Metallica

Since the question is who is better - do you mean in terms of instuments or in terms of albums sold gigs done ect?

in the case of the latter Van halen - because they've been around since 86 and am certain they've sold more albums, gigs ect.

but in terms of my favorite out of the two - VH are too soft for me - and metallica are kinda iffy to me lol

Metallica hands down. for this reason they have been going sturdy for many of those years while in comparison with Van Halen. They have been stable while they have been of their top yet Metallica nevertheless keeps to be sturdy regardless of the cases.
