In what way does giving the State of the Union address help the President?
I understand that the President has to give the Congress the state of affairs from time to time as so stated in Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution. I know it allows the President to outline his legislative agenda and national priorities to Congress but what purpose does the State of the Union serve the President?

Mostly it is about press coverage -- but press coverage is important because it can force congress to his agenda

OBAMA IS AN AWESOME SPEAKER.
And he comes across as very capable and I have confidence in him.
When I see him on TV I know that GOD is working through him to bless the USA.
