Immigrating to Canada is stricter than the US

first you have to be a skilled worker to apply for permanent residency then if granted you have to live in Canada for 3 years before you can become a citizen

to immigrate to the USA you have to go through the same process weather your a Canadian citizen or chinese or any other citizen so moving to Canada will not make immigrating the the USA any easier

to get Canadian citizenship - anywhere between 2 and 6 years to get PR, (depending on what country you come from) 3 years as a PR and then another 2 years to get citizenship - so anywhere from 7 to 11 years

Once you get canadian citizenship then you can APPLY to immigrate to USA as soon as you like - BUT that too will take a few years - including 5 years on the green card before you can even apply to be a US citizen.

    Canada is NOT a shortcut!!!!

Whether you are Canadian or not is irrelevant to the US immigration processing. You still have to apply for a green card normally.
