Does eating broccoli enlarges ones goiter?
A friend once told me that the doctor who operated on his goiter that cabbage sort of kills iodine in the body, now the doctor tells my daughter broccoli does something also. Anyone knows?.

Yep. This includes any cruciferous vegetables. Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collard greens, etc, etc etc.

Before having a correct answer, you may need to give a lot more information about the condition of the sufferer.
In the healthy person, the cruciferous vegetables, are some of the best foods, which fights cancer and build the immune system.
But if the sufferer has special conditions, the same high quality food may have a negative reaction with a drug or temporary negative reaction within the body. But this is only because of a special condition and only for a time, till this condition is restored.
Remember, doctors learn maximum 2 hours of Nutrition during 5 years of study. SO they are not qualified to give you advice in Nutrition. Going to a Nutrition Specialist is best.
Short questions and short answers on internet, because is not given a full history of the health condition and treatments, these answers could do much harm.
Remember, chose to present all the health history and treatments before you can receive a correct answer.
Good intention and the reaction to someone, is good for that specific condition.
Find what is best for your condition. Do not risk taking the misconceptions and interpretations of good intending people.
