    slope = (8 - 5)/(6 -2)

    = 3/4

    m = 3/4 ; x = 2 ; y = 5

    y = mx + b

    5 = (3/4)(2) + b

    solve for b

    b = 5 - 3/2

    b = 7/2

    y = mx + b

    y = (3/4)x + 7/2
