Do you think Taylor Swift is better than Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood and Faith Hill?

1. Elvis didn't exactly burn up the world with songs he wrote. He didn't have to -- he was good at picking songs to sing. I'd much rather hear someone sing a good song, regardless of who wrote it, than someone like Swift who (a) cannot sing and (b) sings things aimed at 15-year-olds.

2. Who needs to write songs when we have Harlan Howard, Felice & Boudleaux Bryant, Hank Cochran, and Bobby Braddock?

3. Using your "logic," you have to abandon Taylor Swift for Barbara Mandrell, because Barbara can not only play guitar but banjo, steel, saxophone, and Dobro. As she plays more instruments than Taylor Swift by YOUR OWN LOGIC she's better. (Of course, she IS better without use of "logic," but I digress.)

4. ALSO using your "logic," you have to abandon Taylor Swift for Cindy Walker. Cindy Walker is considered the greatest female songwriter in history -- precisely why she's in the Country Music Hall of Fame. (Her induction speech was probably the greatest one in the history of the Hall of Fame, too.)

So ditch those Taylor Swift albums and get everything of Barbara Mandrell's and Cindy Walker's because by your logic they are both infinitely superior to her. Even without use of this "logic" they are.

Taylor Swift is one of my favorites right now. Not only does she have an incredible amount of talent, but she is also beautiful.

The difference between Taylor and the others is that Reba, Trisha, and Faith have stood the test of time and people have enjoyed them year after year. Taylor has had a few great years, but only time will tell if her songs become timeless.

NO. Taylor Swift is a talented artist but she is a long time away from upstaging these idols. Maybe you should do a little more research into Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood and Faith Hill before you make your decisions.

The fact that she's written more songs than them means nothing if they all suck which hers all do. She has a horrible voice and all of her songs are very immature and they're all about the same thing. she is in nooooo way better than Reba, Faith, or Trisha.

....All are superb entertainers,and each has left their mark on the country music scene.But the longevity of the entertainers like Reba,Faith, and Trisha is as important as how many songs one writes.

Kitty Wells,Patsy Cline were early female stars in country and are still known by country "purest".But there were some (Susan Raye,Bobby Gentry,Jeanie C.Riley ...to name a few) had talent but were short lived.

Taylor is young and full of energy,and the day will come she needs to focus on one or the other(writing or singing).Which ever she chooses I'm sure she will Excel and put her name with the female legends of country music.

When Taylor Swift has been around as long as they have, then maybe I'll give her some credit. But can you imagine Taylor at age 45 singing "she wears short skirts, i wear t-shirts".. lol. Her subject matter will have to change drastically if she wants to continue her career for years to come. And even though the others mentioned may not play an instrument.. they can sing.. which is what they are.. singers. Not guitar players. Taylor may play guitar, but she couldn't hit a high note to save her life.

No, not at all. Her voice is atrocious, all her songs are about the same thing - she can't get the boy she likes. She may well be able to string along a tune on the guitar but she's no expert, nor are any of her songs all that meaningful either. Once you've heard one, you've heard them all. I'd like to see Taylor write or sing a song anywhere near as deep as Fancy or Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.

About the time I think I seen every ridiculous question that can possibly be asked,I come across this.

We'll see how many number 1 songs Taylor has when she is 54 yrs old like Reba has.

In fact,we'll see how many she has when she is 24! It will be ZERO.

taylor swift cannot sing!!! why doesn't anyone see that? she has cutesy little songs that can be hits with anyone's voice. she has no vibrato and her singing is just like a prolonged talking. yes she is cute, yes her songs are cute and could be sung just as well by a 10 year old girl. did anyone see the travesty that was her singing with Def leppard?? she cannot sing! she is popular by accident and chance. the right songs at the right time, and the right wholesome look. REBA, FAITH AND TRISHA are successful because they are great singers.
