Is a new waterline a capital improvement?
If you replace an old galvanized steel waterilne - that is, the line that goes from the city water source into your home - that has corroded over the years with a new, modern copper waterline that will last a lot longer than a galvanized steel waterline, is that considered a capital improvement on your home?

3 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoWhich name do you like better?
My husband and I are expecting a baby boy in April.
We were thinking about the name Hunter David. But we're trying to think of other names in case that one doesn't seem to fit him once we finally meet him. I think we're sticking with the middle name of David because that is our favorite Bible character and that is also my husband's dad's name.
What do you think about these names and which do you like best:
Hunter David
Cooper David
Tucker David

Some common ones I have heard are:
1) The parents would *kill* me if they found out I had sex before marriage.
2) I'm not ready/willing to raise a child by myself.
3) I was raped
4) I don't want a child right now
5) Other

I have never made corn fritters before, but I know that they are fried.
Do I need a fryer to make these or can I fry them in a pan? If so, how do I do that?

21 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoHow do you show someone that what they feel is "normal" is actually not normal?
If a man gets angry often...and being angry often is normal to him...how do you show him that it is, in fact, not normal to be angry all the time?
6 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWhat can you do to help someone who gets angry easily?
There are people who get mad over very little things. They may be pleasant and easy going until something in life goes wrong, then it is as if all hell broke lose and their enitre day is destroyed.
For instance:
A buddy makes a rude comment and the person gets mad and remains mad all day and all night.
The grocery store rejects his perfectly good credit card and he yells at the manger and refuses to go back to that store - ever.
He asks his wife to do something and she forgets so he yells at her (including swear words, which he doesn't usually use).
Someone kindly suggests he try doing something their way and he gets pissed off because he already had decided, to himself, how he would do something.
The difference between him and other people is that nothing ever gets brushed off his shoulder. He has to get mad at everything. And he seems to be angry more days and nights each week than not. It makes him unpleasant to be around and his wife feels like she's not a good wife because she cannot help him cheer up after these events take place.
What can his wife / friends / family do to help and/or encourage him to stop being so angry?
7 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoWill my pine tree stop growing if I leave it in a bucket?
I have a pine tree that is about a foot-and-a-half tall planted in a bucket right now. I plan to plant it in my yard, but I'm just curious: will my tree stop growing if I leave it in the bucket?
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoHow do I make the water in my pool clear instead of turquoise?
My husband and I have been working with our local pool company to get our in-ground pool cleaned up and ready to use for the summer for the past month. We've put in all the chemicals they requested, have a tiger shark "swimming" around in the pool to clean up any floor debris, and have been letting our pump run and back-washing it once a day. But our water is still turquoise and not clear. We can barely see the bottom of the pool.
Any suggestions on how to clear up our water?

3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoDoes anyone have the 58mm Macro & close up lens set for Canon EOS Rebel?
This kit comes with 1x, 2x, 4x, and 10x lenses that are stack-able.
I'm just curious if you like the lens set (if not, why), and would you recommend it?
3 AnswersCameras1 decade agoWhat would you do with a 16 foot tall shed that is 6 foot wide by 4 foot deep?
We have this odd-shaped outbuilding at our house. It is very tall and very shallow so I'm not sure why someone would build such a building. Any ideas what this might have been used for?
If it matters, it's out back about 5 feet behind our poll barn and the doors are facing the neighbor's house, which also seems odd also.
(We're probably going to have it removed; I was just curious what one might have used such a building for.)
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoShould I buy a Canon Lens or a comparable third party lens for my Canon EOS digital?
Does anyone with a Canon EOS digital camera use a third party telephoto lens?
If so:
1. Which lens do you use?
2. From which company did you buy it?
3. Do you like it?
I plan to use the lens for photographing events around my community (rodeo, softball, etc.). What I am trying to decide is whether to buy a Canon lens or a less expensive third party lens.
