What is the best "Come Back Album" in Rock history. The one after a band has gotten back together?

My favorite is "Crush" by Bon Jovi

I wanted to say The Eagles, but maybe they never did one. I'm thinking Hell freezes over was their best though.

OMG we love Bon Jovi but it's always a good idea to take extra panties to his concerts, LOL.

    Good afternoon Mike :)

I can't say that any of my choices are 'the best', but they work for me!

Fleetwood Mac ~ "Say You Will" [2003]

they 'went on holiday' in 1995, and whilst some may call 1997/8s live album "The Dance" a come-back, it was really just a sort of anniversary tour.

It could also be argued that the 1975 "Fleetwood Mac" album was something of a come-back, as this was a newly-fronted line-up with a totally new 'sound'.

    Stevie Nicks ~ "Trouble in Shangri-La" [2001]

Stevie took a step back from the industry after her 1994 solo album "Street Angel", due to bad reviews {more of the tour than the actual album} which put her off. This album almost didn't happen, because she went to dinner with Tom Petty and asked him to write songs for her. Thank heavens, Tom said "No, you write your songs yourself", which Stevie then quoted in the song 'That Made Me Stronger'.

Hey Mike, that is a good one you picked, I really like that album a lot

My choice is going to be Back In Black by AC/DC

Released on 25 July 1980, Back in Black was the first AC/DC album recorded without former lead singer Bon Scott, who died on 19 February 1980 at the age of 33, and was dedicated to him. The band considered disbanding following Scott's death, but they ultimately decided to continue and shortly thereafter hired Brian Johnson as their new lead singer and lyricist.

It sold an estimated 49 million copies to date, making it the second highest selling album of all time. Sales in the United States alone reached 22 million.

Steeley Dan - Two Against Nature

This album came out 20 years after their last album Gaucho and was a great record.

Edit: I will also add Testaments - Formation of Damnation which was released in 2008. The previous album - The Gathering was out in 1999. I think The Formation of Damnation was the best rock album in 2008.

Oh, multiple i could have enjoyed to artwork out collaborate yet i'll decrease it to 2 pairings: a million) Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix; want I say extra beneficial?! 2) Bob Dylan and Hank Williams Sr.; particular Hank grew to become def. u . s . yet he grew to become an important impression on Dylan and the two are/have been such superb songwriters. BQ: i think of Janis and Jimi could have been a "couple" ever so at as quickly as.

    Asia - Phoenix

First album since their 1990 breakup, featuring the entire original band. Here's a beautiful finale to that album.

Not rock but Johnny Cash's American Recordings was huge.

Other personal favorites are Polvo's In Prism

    and Cynic's Traced In Air

  • Cynic's 2nd album "Traced in Air" released in 2008....their debut, "Focus" was released in 1993 which is a classic in the progressive metal scene...their come back album is spectacular!!
