Can I make tamales in a rice cooker?

There was a question that asked about a rack, but I don' t have a rack...but, I really want to make tamales and thought the rice cooker would be great. Has anyone done it? Anything I need to be aware of?

    Sure

Just make a makeshift rack by elevating the tamales out of the water so tht they are not boiled. One of those steamer inserts would be perfect here.

The tamales need to be placed upright in a deep steamer. The steamer tray that comes with a rice cooker may not be deep enough.
