Appendix: effects if burst?

If your appendix had burst 4 days ago you would be dead by now. That being said, you should still go to the doctor and see what was causing your pain. It could have something to do with your appendix and you should have everything checked out before it does burst. I don't think you could even imagine the pain you would be in if it did. there's only one hope for depression. That is an effective anti depressant medication. Depression comes from a checmical imbalance in the neurotransmitters and the brain and nothing in the world will alleviate unless you compensate for it. The right medication will do it. When you're depressed, you're unable to interact with a therapist by talking or be with or around anyone so talk therapy won't work. Being around people is a waste because the loss of interest makes it difficult to tolerate company and again, verbal interaction. You will have no desire for pets or taking care of animals as it's too labor intensive, too complex and your mind can't handle it. Excercise requires motivation which you have none. Until you can compensate for the chemical imbalance that's causing the depression and anxiety, none of these suggestions are useful.. Once you regain your sense of motivation and desire to do things, only then can any interaction or activity possibly help feel good.. There are ssri's, snri's mao inhibitors and trycyclic anti depressants. Some work better than others depending on the individdual. It is frustrating until you find one that works well with tolerable side effects. If none of these are ever an option, try ect (shock therapy)l

My appendix did burst, but like my father , I presented atypically.

No fever and no pain in the lower right quadrant, when palpated.

My pain was under the sternum and after 2 days in the hospital (in severe pain), a very sharp surgeon friend of mine decided to do an exploratory surgery.

The CT scan had shown peritonitis, and I was very toxic, because it had already burst.

Believe me, you would know if you had a burst appendix; I was on painkiller every 1.5 hours, before this brilliant diagnostician friend decided to open me up on a Friday evening. He refused to leave the hospital, because of how sick I was.

First, with acute appendicitis you would have had a high fever and vomiting as well as very sharp abdominal pains.

Second, if your appendix had ruptured you would have collapsed with the pain and been rushed to hospital.

Third, if left untreated for five days a ruptured appendix would have made you critically ill and probably killed you by now.

Stop worrying. Chances are, if you aren't feeling ill now then you aren't ill at all.

my dad is in the hospital right now having just gone through surgery from his appendix burting the doc said it did so as long as a month or 2 ago from what i read he should be horizontal a while ago but only started showing symptoms a week or 2 ago he is curently in ICU and isnt doing great but is ok still cut open in case they have to go back in any word about this would be great thanks

If your appendix was infected and ruptured you would definitely know. You would have fever and extreme pain.
