hey, i am 38, no kids i was told when i was 20 yr i can not have any at all. I have VERY heavy periods,?

my periods are painful, makes me weak. What I want to do with my life i can not see me having a child. Would be very unfair for a child. So should i get tubes tied? if so how bad is it, like recovery ect.. mom thinks they use lasers now. I am not married, i have no man in life but pray someday i get married. but advice will help, Thanks

Update:

I did go to my OBGYN, she said that maybe on birth control slow monthly down, BUT why pay for pills at my age and also i am 38, why not get them tied? I am just lloking at the idea/

My cycle went from 4 days and regular to 2 and a half days and a little heavier over the 4 years after I got mine tied.

But they all say it's just my body and nothing to do with the tubal. It cost about 4500 and with my insurance I paid 1200 out of pocket. so it is expensive

If you are 38 you might consider getting a hysterectomy and have the system removed. It may take some persistence but you might find one willing. With that you wouldn't have periods BUT the hormonal effects may be drastic? I'm not sure.

I was on the depo shot when I was younger and my periods went away all together. But that eats away at your bones and is not good for post 30's.

Having a tubal ligation could well just make the problem worse. For a start, you need to get yourself to a gynecologist and have a complete exam. There are treatments for heavy, painful periods. They do indeed use lasers, but not for tubal ligations. But until you have a proper exam and discover the reason behind your miserable monthly, it's all conjecture. Just go see a gynecologist and get it sorted out, and get a professional recommendation from somebody who trained to know.

Yeah... If you discover your self not able to manage your sexual urges, you may also must significantly search a few aid. I'm now not pronouncing your loopy or something, however, I in my opinion suppose that fathering 38 youngsters from 38 distinctive females is beautiful immoderate.

I would go to your doctor and tell him, he will probly say that it may be a cyis and he may want to do tests.

Also, Since you cannot have kids I would get a you womb taking out, which means no more period, and if you were able to have kids then that would mean no more kids!

Source(s): Cousin and Aunt had a cyis and felt just like that.

I'd talk to a doc in church, or consult with my physician at my next check-up... Good luck... ;-)
