What artist or artists surprised you the most when you first heard a complete album by them?

Looking Glass - I bought the album because of Brandy but the rest of the album had a harder edge. LOL I love hard rock so I was pleasantly surprised.

Some I guess, and some were disappointing. We are so selective about music and specific songs.

Cracker comes to mind immediately, then the guys who did Euro Trash Girl.

Some country have also done that, but then others, classic people like Dylan and Waits, never disappoint.

I love everything Bob Marley ever did.

    Tom Petty WEOW!!!!! LOL

OMG I think it was Cracker that did Euro, Hahahahaha.

good question. actually, I in simple terms opt for my widespread band to pass lower back to the studio, yet i do not see that taking position any time quickly. The very last Kiss album replaced into an finished disaster. different then them, and that i'm searching over my sequence, i do not see any particular artist / band that i imagine i might want to celebrate with in a thoroughly diverse putting. Oops.... lower back up. i'd love for Zakk Wylde to pass lower back and do a organic southern rock album interior the vein of the delight and Glory list. NP: "Lit Up" - Buckcherry Edit: definite, Sookie... "Lit Up" is an excellent music! And Deke, i will once back believe you on the Kiss / acoustic difficulty. The Unplugged album replaced into the most appropriate difficulty they have released seeing that 'seventy seven.... and that is putting forward plenty because Creatures and Revenge are in simple terms large albums.

The two that really come to mind are Apollo Sunshine with their self titled record and Band of Horses with Everything All The Time. With Apollo Sunshine I heard really good things about them, but I listened to the first song, thinking I was going to give the record a good listen a couple times and though I could kind of see a coolness to it I was pretty underwhelmed and it took me until a third try on a long car ride to get past that. Once I finally got through track two and three and on forward I realized that the record is just ridiculously good. Now it's one of my favorite albums for the decade.

With Band of Horses, I just hated the name and almost didn't want to like them. The whole thing just felt like it was going to be terribly pretentious. Then I went to a hockey game with a couple buddies of mine and one of them put it on for the drive down, and it was great. Really, really pleasant surprise.

    Rush

They had a few good songs on the radio, so I went out and bought 2112 and Moving Pictures. (This was a looooong time ago)

It surprised me because I just couldn't get into those albums at all, other than a small handful of songs.

Wednesday 13 - he was lead singer of Murderdolls so when I saw him live I was ready to be like bleeeehhh but he put on a hell of a how... his album Skeletons is now pretty high up there on my heavy rotations list.......

In Flames - Saw them open for Slayer back in 2000... wasn't too keen on them then but once you start listening to the albums you kinda fall in love

Apocalyptica. Saw a TV concert and bought the album the next day.

Roxy Music's "For your Pleasure". I'd heard "Do the Strand" on the Radio, bought it that afternoon, and in the Evening ran it past my "dazed and confused" mates and blew their minds as well!

Dave Matthews Band. The more I would listen, the more I would research. He has musicians from all kinds of musical genres and it worked out pretty well for him. I enjoy his records.
