Apple Users. Wouldn't it be helpful if you had your own section?
I've noticed that although there are separate cell phone, handheld and music player sections that often i<insert Apple product name> users aren't sure which one to use and ultimately questions end up in Other Electronics. If you had your own section then it would be dead easy to address your specific Apple product questions to Apple users and experts if there was a dedicated Consumer Electronics> Apple Products. section.
5 AnswersOther - Electronics9 years agoIs there a metal band genre database anywhere?
I've accepted the fact that people insist on putting metal bands into some kind of genre. Is there a database that tells you which band is which genre so you put in the band name and the database coughs out the genre and describes the unique qualities of that genre e.g. you put in "Dismal Nightfall" (fictional band name) and it says "post industrial metalcore" and gives a paragraph on what that means?
4 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoForeign Nationals voting in UK domestic elections?
The UK allows Commonwealth citizens and citizens of the Irish Republic to vote in UK domestic elections. Are there any other countries with this or a similar arrangement?
3 AnswersElections1 decade agoWindows 7 pdf download problems?
If I click on a pdf file link (IE8, Chrome, Firefox 4, Acrobat Reader 9.0) I get a box with Acrobat Reader in the title with a blue question mark in the box and an OK button. The pdf doesn't display. Is there some file association link I should be enabling and if so where is it?
2 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoThe UK Census form asks how many cars/vans you have, but not motorcycles?
Not exactly representative of the motoring public. That and I think they should have included caravans too for "Top Gear" reasons.

The Liverpool back four are close enough to play poker (no width) and the rest of them are playing so deep they almost need scuba gear.
1 AnswerOther - Soccer1 decade agoIs the "Ped Egg" advert the most awful thing to watch on morning TV when you're trying to eat?
Watching the Ped Egg advert (foot scraper for people who haven't seen it) puts you right off your egg sandwich when it's shown on morning TV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoHMd1yOBfM the UK version is probably a tad more gross.
4 AnswersOther - Television1 decade agoWould it be unreasonable to split music players and iPods into separate sections?
Seems like 80% of the questions in music and music players are questions about iPods. Would it not be reasonable to have iPods in a separate section all to themselves.
BQ. Considering how troublesome iPods appear to be why would anybody would want one?
1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhy does film look like "film"?
Film is allegedly a zillion more pixels than say HD TV but video on TV looks more like real life but film doesn't. What subtle point am I missing?

4 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat's your success rate with online translator programs?
I've found Google Translate and similar, e.g. Babelfish, work well on some languages but other languages come out as English "but not as we know it Jim" (Spock). Are online translators really that bad or is it a case of garbage in garbage out or that they can't handle idiomatic language?

I've just seen my first 2011 holiday advert, the Easter eggs must be in the shops by now.

I had lunch with a friend at a small restaurant and I noticed my knife and fork were magnetic, I could pull one around with the other. I asked my friend to check hers and her knife and fork were magnetic too. The staff didn't have an explanation. Any ideas?
4 AnswersOther - United Kingdom1 decade agoWhat is it with all this re-branding?
As if we didn't have enough with Marathon vs Snickers in the UK, not to mention Jif vs Cif cleaner and those old enough know why it was called Jif and not Cif originally, now it seems kitchen roll and toilet roll are all changing names for no apparent reason. Good marketing reasons or simply new graduates in the marketing and legal departments who are getting caught out?
2 AnswersOther - Advertising & Marketing1 decade agoWhat does baking powder do that baking soda (sodium bicarb) alone doesn't do?
Apart from disodium diphosphate (which sounds like a fertiliser) and a bit of flour in baking powder what is the advantage in cooking in using one over the other?
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat's the cheapest and easiest way to send money from the US to the UK?
Specifically US account to UK account, preferably electronically. Western Union ($65) and most US banks charge astronomical rates and I don't know if IMO's are still available and what they are likely to cost but that's still an additional paper transaction at the UK end.
