What would cause magnetic cutlery?
I had lunch with a friend at a small restaurant and I noticed my knife and fork were magnetic, I could pull one around with the other. I asked my friend to check hers and her knife and fork were magnetic too. The staff didn't have an explanation. Any ideas?
Just seen some magnetic cutlery savers for the top of waste bins. That might be a more likely cause than prison issue cutlery although that explanation is plausible.

These utensils were once used at a prison. Because of the obvious safety hazards, prisons often make their silverware magnetic. Hence they will be easily found by a magnetic detector and cannot be smuggled out of the cafeteria to be used as shanks.

I think hard water etches the glass... change your dishwasher cleaner. I use Cascade and Jet Dry, personally. My glasses came out etched for a while and I was using Cascade before and after the etching. I think it was the Jet Dry that made it stop. Good luck.

That's amazing. Maybe they were quite strong and heavy. Some cutlery are.
