Is there a metal band genre database anywhere?

I've accepted the fact that people insist on putting metal bands into some kind of genre. Is there a database that tells you which band is which genre so you put in the band name and the database coughs out the genre and describes the unique qualities of that genre e.g. you put in "Dismal Nightfall" (fictional band name) and it says "post industrial metalcore" and gives a paragraph on what that means?
