    The cage on the site is alright. I had that cage and trust me your guinea pig will not enjoy it once he grows and some after he wont do anything at all (and you may find him boring). Guinea pigs are not boring, especially when they live in a CandC cage. BEST cages in the world btw. I strongly suggest getting that instead, especially if you want whats best for him. Pellets are actually not necessary so you dont have to buy them. My vert says pallets make guinea pigs fat. Somthing they shouldnt be. The fatter the piggy the shorter life the poor piggy will have. However you can feed him a very small amout once or twice a week. Make sure they are timothy hay based and not Alfalfa. For a guinea pig 6 months and younger its alright to give them alfalfa guinea pig pellets but guinea pigs over 6 months DO NOT i repeat DO NOT feed him alfalfa based pellets. I dont feed my piggies pellets, not neccesary. MAke sure to buy timothy hay, and only that and lots of it. Feed him lots and lots of it. Theres no such thing as to much timothy hay. Same goes with hay for the alfafla hay .. only feed to a 6 months and younger guinea pig otherwise for an older piggy its timothy hay. I found now some bags of timothy hat contain carrots and such, this is good for your piggy. When you have a Cand C cage you use fleece, cheaper and easier to clean. Under the fleece you use a bed pad or two layers of twoles. However if you use a crappy store baught cage (dont plzz) then carefresh is good stuff to use. For toys you can use cozzzy cudle cups. They're always a favorite with the pigges, mine love em. Tonels are fun to. You can even make your own using bent grids and a towel (ive done tht). Plastic spoons are fun and chew blocks. Huts and hidi houses are a fav to.

    Ok right now ima talk about the cage. I strongly suggest a C&C cage http://www.guineapigcages.com/photos/data/544/medi...

    website-> http://www.guineapigcages.com/

    you build him tht and he'll love you foreve, and he will get the excerise he needs. NO WHEELS FOR GUINEA PIGS I REPEAT NEVER BUY A WHEEL FOR A GUINEA PIG not good for their backs.

    All you need for a C&C cage is cubes and coroplast. HOWEVER coroplast is not needed for I dont use it because again its not neccsary, but feel free to use it.

    Cubes -> http://www.hubert.com/images/200/vol4/55001-57500/...

    Coroplast (wht they make signs out of) -> http://www.midsouthsignsandgraphics.com/wp-content... .. its not cardboard

    You can buy cubes at wal mart or home depot or a funiture store, look around. And coroplast at a siighn shop...or you dont have to use it at all.

    Bedding: Fleece for a C&C cage -> http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3481/3938335575_ae1...

    If you use a store baught cage then carefresh -> http://www.mccrackenspet.com/images/carefresh.jpg

    Even in a store baught cage you can use fleece.. make sure to put bed pads or twoels under it:)

    Toys- hid out houses for sure and plastic spoons. Tunnels -> http://jackiesguineapiggies.com/piggycare/peachytu...

    Just look around at your local pet store

    Guinea pigs love cozy cuddle cups for sure -> http://www.martinscages.com/images/full/ac-cc00.jp...

    Food- pellets arnt neccary but go ahead and get em if you want to spend the extra money. Hay timonthy hay for sure.. always feed lots of it.

    Well thats all i can think of at the moment

    I hope I helped :)

    -Angela

    Edit: NO RABBIT FOOD...F*** NO RABIT FOOD, VERY BAD, no dairy products and no treats (not neccsary..)

    Where to get everything.. petsmart..any pet store near you

    Hello,

    This cage is not big enough dear, from the picture ive seen. I could be wrong, but in the picture it looks small enough. Guinea pigs are social creatures. I recommend u purchase two which are from the same littler or live in the same cage together. Pet shop cages are too small, most of the time. Your better purchasing a hutch, something like a two-storey one. People will say guinea pigs can't climb, it's a load of nonsense! Ive posted a link below on cage sizes, i could be wrong about the one ur purchasing. Check this measurements and then check the website to see if it's ok,

    Emily.

    That's so exciting! I got my first baby male guinea pig 2 years ago and he is still healthy and happy. I will tell you some of the things that help me, First of all, I NEVER get carefresh bedding, I vary much dislike it - when they pee it only absorbs a sertian amount until it completely stops and it's really expinsive. Some toy's i treats have liked are Yogies, Big bark bites, Etc. Make sure to always have something like wood in the cage because they chew on things to shorten there teeth ( there teeth never stop growing ) I get my guinea pig products from Petco or Petsmart. also.. i found out that guinea pigs like to use the bathroom in dark places, so if you wanted you could potty train them so that you could get something really cool like C&C cages. How you potty train him would be to put a blanket or box over a tray with bedding inside it - every time he uses the bathroom outside it you toss the poop's inside the bathroom and he will learn. I think that cage would be great. It is a tad bit small so you could do something like it did which was after gitting him used to you and his souranding yous can get something more exciting :) ! C&C cages are only about 20$ and can be made huge! I am working on gitting him one after he is fully trained not to go to the bathroom other then inside his potty. some other things i think are pretty cool are that you can make them pillows by putting bedding inside them instead of stuffing, and i have found that mine loves the pillows. I also recommend having something like a tile peace so that when its hot inside your room he can lay down on it and be cooled off. NEVER GIVE HIM HOT WATER! and try and give him 30 min play time in your room every day, lay a blanket down and put a ocuple toys to play with and make sure he drinks water. I feed my guines pig lettuce and carrots every night and he loves them... if you feed him orenges only feed him 2 a week cause they are so tart.

    I hope all this info helped! I'm sorry it was so long!

    use clomping cat litter with hay on top,

    have at least 1 1/2 of bedding,

    lots of veggies, and fruit, and dry pellets.

    they need Vitamin C, so lots of citrus fruit. (never give them any type of Dairy product.)

    don't get food with color in.

    get rabbit food for your pig, it is cheaper, and the nutrients and food is the same.

    they need hay every day... get hay from a farm, usually around $5 for 50lbs and it will last you for 6 + months.

    my pigs don't use toys...

    a large water bottle, but a dish under it in case they play with it.

    oh and a salt block.

    get the veggies from Wal+mart, or extra foods

    get the cat litter any where.

    That looks like a very nice cage for him. I would personally recommend CareFresh bedding and maybe some salt licks or something for him to chew on.
