How is the pic of Lindsey Vonn on the SI cover provocative?

She's in a tuck and she's fully clothed. Granted it looks like she's standing on flat ground and they rotated the picture to make it appear like she's going downhill, but critics say this is a racy picture. Maybe SI should've put Lindsey Jacobellis or Hannah Teter on the cover in snowboarding regalia if people think a speed suit is too trashy.

What would they say if Vonn was a beach volleyball player or a swimmer? Perish the thought!

Update:

@Chris W: Are you asking if I am gay or naive, or is that an accusation aimed at the critics?

Update 2:

Good answers all. I'll have to pick a winner later.

Heaven forbid an attractive young lady want to capitalize on her hard work, good looks AND personality while in the prime of her life. She's spent the majority of her life covered in bulky ski clothes and now has a chance to strike a pose that at least identifies her as a woman - can't understand why she'd want to do that (sarcasm). Yeah, I'm with you: if that pose is provocative to some people, then they've never googled the word "porn".

I think the critics misspelled it. That's not a racy picture! It's a racing picture. As far as I'm concerned any attractive woman can be provocative. Even better if she can ski like Lindsey. Personally I like well shaped muscles on women.

Your right. Its not provocative at all! I mean SI is the magazine that sends out the swimsuit edition!

Where did you hear that it was?

I guess that most non-skiers that get SI aren't used to seeing people in speed suits. That's probably why.

also, haha i see what you mean about the slanted pic. The way her hair is falling isn't natural.

i bet one of the critics is the same moron Christine Brennan that said the Olympic committee should ban certain snowboard tricks because of people, mainly Kevin Pearce were getting hurt. We know the risk when strap in, doing crazy stuff is what makes the sport so fun yet idiots like her want to cut back on athletes style and ability to have fun

People just don't know what they're talking about and need to keep their mouths shut but they don't and theres a lot of idiots out there

I guess an attractive woman with a cute smile just gives some people the shakes. She looks nice enough to me. The critics need to get a grip!

It's Lindsey Vonn and it's Sports illustrated ie swimsuit magazine specials fame, are you blind or just naive. Sex sells that's why she's so popular with America's advertising she would look great wearing anything doing anything. She's America's new sport poster girl, until she loses and breaks a leg or gets caught using anything out of the norm. Good thing Tiger Woods doesn't ski.

My apologies, but anyone can see why

    Source(s): duh know that
  • I was thinking the exact same thing--she looks bundled up in a ski hat and scarf-how is that provocative when people like sara palin wear super short skirts in photos???

The critics are once again, clueless.

From what I could gather, the fat and ugly women were offended. For good reason, I reckon. ;)
