Arizona Principal calls kids 'lazy' and 'stupid.' Wasn't he right?
Is all this hot water because, in typical 'not my child' fashion, the parents are up in arms..because he was right?
Kids today have no motivation to learn. They know they will pass, regardless of whether they learn or not. Why try? The few kids who do have a desire to learn are more-often hampered by the bunch who don't, and the teachers are not trying anymore, probably because of that same 'not my child' crap. He's right, isn't he?
The only problem with that, someperson, is that you should be just another of many, but you are instead one of a very few kids who can find your butt with both hands these days. Take that as a compliment to you or a stick in the eye of your generation, and of the generation of parents and politicians who worry more about not hurting someone's feelings than they do about making sure they're prepared for real life, which by the way cares nothing for feelings.
Take a look around you in school. Look at how many kids, who want to learn and cant, because of all the lazy slobs, because of all the teachers who got tired of beating their heads into walls and just quit trying, and of all the parents who would rather their kid think they're smart when they're not than risk having them embarrassed into learning.
Sorry you take offense, but by and large the principal was right on.

I agree. Most kids are lazy and stupid. The reason the parents are upset is because they are lazy and stupid too.

I take offense at that. I am a freshman in high school with a 4.332 GPA. I work very hard in all of my classes and do all of my homework. I have great motivation to learn in that, if I don't have a good GPA, I will not get a scholarship to college, where I plan on becoming either a teacher, investigative journalist, or phycologist. Without a scholarship I will not get to attend college, because my family doens't have a whole lot of money. The fact that he generalized a statement about all children because of the mistakes of a few is quite disturbing. If he cannot respect us as individual human beings, a new principal should be found, because he clearly cares nothing for his job.
